Mondial 2026 : Le Mexique s’impose face à la Corée du Sud et valide son billet pour les seizièmes
Mexico continues its winning streak in this 2026 World Cup. Facing South Korea this Friday in the second day of Group A, the Mexicans won by the narrowest of margins (1-0) thanks to a goal from Luis Romo in the second half.
The match turned in the 50th minute following a huge error by the South Korean goalkeeper. After a collision with one of his defenders, the keeper dropped the ball in his penalty area. Luis Romo immediately pounced on the opportunity, tapping the ball into the net to give Mexico the lead.
Despite several South Korean attempts to get back into the game, El Tri's men managed to preserve their lead until the final whistle.
This victory was enough to delight the Mexicans, who secured their second consecutive win after their victory against South Africa in the opening match. With six points, Mexico has qualified for the round of 32 and puts itself in a strong position to finish top of Group A.
South Korea, for its part, will now have to fight hard on the final day to hope to continue its adventure in the competition.
