National 1 : Dakar FC décroche son billet pour la Ligue 2
After a remarkable season, Dakar FC has officially secured its promotion to Ligue 2. The Dakar team achieved promotion at the end of the 25th day of the National 1 play-offs by largely dominating Gouney Mboro (4-0), on Friday at the Yoff municipal stadium.
Showing great attacking flair, the Dakar FC players quickly took control of the match. Ibrahima Ndiaye distinguished himself with a brace, while Souleymane Ba and Arona Kandé also found the net to seal a resounding victory.
Thanks to this victory, the capital club consolidates its first place in Group B and mathematically secures promotion with three matchdays remaining. Its main rival, Jolof Olympique Club of Dahra, second with 41 points before its match against Builders FC, can no longer catch the leader.
This promotion marks a significant milestone in the club's history, as they achieve the remarkable feat of securing a third consecutive promotion in three seasons. This spectacular progress testifies to the consistency and ambition of Dakar FC.
In Group A, however, the suspense remains high. Leading with 51 points, Keur Madior remains under direct threat from ASFA, second with 49 points. ASFA's military team will have the opportunity to take the top spot in the standings with a victory against Mbour Petite Côte on Sunday, in the rescheduled match from the 25th round.
The fight for promotion in this group is therefore expected to be particularly intense until the final days of the championship.
