Pape Thiaw avant France–Sénégal : « Notre force, c’est le collectif »
Just hours before Senegal's opening match in the World Cup against France, national coach Pape Thiaw displayed his serenity and confidence during the pre-match press conference given to RTS.
The Senegalese coach was delighted to have his full squad available for this first World Cup match. This was made possible thanks to a preparation that allowed several players to regain their peak physical condition.
“Alhamdulillah. I have my entire squad at my disposal. Kalidou Koulibaly is fully operational and the preparation matches have allowed us to get all the players back into rhythm,” he said.
Aware of the quality of their opponent, Pape Thiaw expects a particularly demanding match against a French team brimming with talent. "We know a big challenge awaits us. It will be a very difficult match against a top-level team," he acknowledged.
But despite the presence of numerous stars in the French squad, the Lions' coach refuses to be intimidated. He believes that Senegal also possesses players capable of making a difference at the highest level. "France has world-class players, but we too have talented players who can rise to the occasion," he emphasized.
For the Senegalese coach, the Lions' main weapon remains the strength of the group. He is counting on solidarity, commitment, and team spirit to allow Senegal to make a successful start to the competition.
