Polémique en Chine : Philippe Diallo vole au secours de Mbappé
The French Football Federation (FFF) refuses to let the controversy surrounding Kylian Mbappé drag on. Its president, Philippe Diallo, has defended the Real Madrid striker, who is at the center of a controversy in China following comments he made about Mao Zedong. According to the French official, the reactions to this affair are excessive, especially since the French national team captain has already apologized.
In an interview with Ouest-France, Philippe Diallo wanted to clarify the FFF's position, stating that the French international had no intention of offending the Chinese people or damaging the image of the country's former leader.
"I don't think Kylian wanted in any way to damage the image of a Chinese leader, nor to insult the Chinese people in any way," said the head of French football.
For Philippe Diallo, this controversy has been blown out of proportion given the context in which the remarks were made. He also points out that the player has offered explanations and acknowledged the need to apologize.
"This is a controversy that shouldn't last because Kylian explained very well the context in which this intervention took place. He apologized and I think we should leave it at that now," he added.
While reactions continue to spark debate in China, the president of the French Football Federation (FFF) is calling for a move on and for the matter, which he considers now settled, to be closed. This stance constitutes clear support for Mbappé, whose statements have provoked a heated controversy beyond France's borders.

Il a juste fait une gaffe par manque de culture et d'inattention.
Mais je crois qu'il ne referais plus jamais ce genre d'erreur.
