Préparation mondial 2026-Sénégal-Arabie Saoudite (0-0) : Un match nul et des interrogations
Senegal concluded their preparations for the 2026 World Cup with a goalless draw against Saudi Arabia (0-0) on Tuesday in the United States. It was a lackluster match in which the Lions delivered a timid performance just days before their opening match in the competition.
After their defeat against the United States (3-2) in their previous match, Pape Thiaw's men hoped to regain some confidence. However, they failed to do so against a Saudi Arabian side in a game marked by a lack of rhythm and clear-cut chances.
This match, however, provided an opportunity to see two key players from the Senegalese national team return. Captain Kalidou Koulibaly and midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye made their comeback after being sidelined by injuries, good news for the coaching staff as the World Cup approaches.
The end of the match was difficult for the Lions with the sending-off of Nicolas Jackson in the 84th minute. The Senegalese striker received a second yellow card, leaving his teammates to finish the match with ten men.
With just days to go before their first match against France, scheduled for June 16, Senegal will have to show a completely different side to hope for a successful start to the competition.
