Quatre Lionnes bloquées au Mexique : les explications de la Fédération de basket
In comments reported by L'Observateur, made during a Facebook Live session, Madjiguène Sène, center for the Lionesses basketball team, denounced the conditions she and three of her teammates faced while stuck in Mexico City. The national team was in the Mexican capital for the pre-qualifying tournament for the 2028 Olympics. After their elimination, with three losses in as many games, the team returned home divided into two groups. The first group apparently had no problems. The second group, however, reportedly endured a real ordeal.
The mishap involves Dioma Kane, Nogaye Diagne, Sabou Guèye, and Madjiguène Sène. Responding to the latter's revelation, which had spilled the beans, the Senegalese Basketball Federation (FSBB) initially dismissed the theory of a missed appointment. "The return date, initially scheduled for the entire delegation, was Monday, August 24, 2026, the day after the tournament's end, which was scheduled for August 23. Therefore, no delay occurred," the federation stated in a press release reported by L'Observateur.
Continuing, the Federation revealed that, following the Lionesses' premature elimination, it had taken steps to expedite their return. This was only possible with Air France. The problem was that they had to transit through the Schengen Area, and not all the players had the necessary visas. Thus, the "eligible" members of the delegation were able to leave Mexico earlier than planned, while the remaining four players had to revert to the original plan: the Mexico City-Dakar flight via Casablanca-São Paulo, the departure date of which (August 24) could not be changed.
The statement assures that to prevent the four Lionesses from struggling during the long layovers before Dakar, the Federation accommodated them in 5-star hotels or VIP lounges. The organization also reports that it provided the players with financial assistance "to allow them to purchase personal belongings while awaiting the delivery of their luggage."

Je ne vois pas de problème excepté peut-être le fait que le passeport sénégalais ne soit pas un passe-partout.
