Rémy Ngono: « Harry Kane (est un) Ballon d’or par effraction »
It's an open secret. Harry Kane, the English striker for Bayern Munich, won the 2026 Ballon d'Or earlier this week. A crowning achievement that has sparked debate.
While some believe the striker fully deserves this award, others think there are better players. Rémy Ngono is among those who disagree.
The famous commentator on the Radio Foot Internationale program broadcast on RFI, declared yesterday Friday that the Englishman is a "Ballon d'Or winner by force".
"Something is wrong."
In his opinion, the trophy should have been awarded to Frenchman Kylian Mbappé, because of his remarkable performances last season.
“Something isn’t right. Harry Kane was in the same competition as Mbappé, namely the Champions League. They are both center forwards. Mbappé scored 15 goals. He was the competition’s top scorer, surpassing Harry Kane. But let’s not forget the goals the Englishman scored against smaller teams in the Bundesliga. Even in the World Cup, Mbappé was better. He finished as the tournament’s top scorer with 10 goals, compared to Harry Kane’s 6. In other words, in the two major competitions where both strikers were expected to perform, Mbappé outperformed Kane,” observed the Cameroonian sports commentator.
"We now want France Football's new criterion to be deaf and mute."
He believes that the Ballon d'Or was awarded to a nice player who doesn't cause trouble, unlike Mbappé, who has convictions.
"We now want France Football's new criterion to be deaf and mute," Rémy Ngono blurted out, provoking bursts of laughter on the set of the show.
