Saison sportive à Matam : Le député-maire Farba Ngom enchaîne les parrainages et les appuis financiers aux ASC
From Thiodaye to Odobéré, Farba Ngom, the deputy-mayor of Agnam, is undertaking a marathon of sponsorships during the 2026 Navétanes popular championship in the Matam region. By donating sports equipment, providing financial support to sports and cultural associations (ASC), and demonstrating unity with other mayors in the region, the elected official is using football as a powerful tool for social cohesion and youth mobilization.
It's a veritable tour of the stadiums. After sponsoring a final in Thiodaye on October 25th, the deputy-mayor of Agnam, Farba Ngom, is establishing himself as the central figure of the 2026 Navétanes in the Matam region.
His schedule speaks volumes about his close ties to the sports association movement. First Thiodaye on October 25, then Ndouloumadji Nabadji on October 27 for the Zone 4 final. On October 28, after the commune of Ourossogui, it was the commune of Odobéré that welcomed him as the guest of honor for the final of the DME Cup, sponsored by Mayor Mousseyini Ndiaye.
On October 29, he will be in Sinthiou Boumack for the final of the Agnam Mayor's Cup in the Dandé Mayo Zone, before concluding his journey on October 30 in Agnam Goly for the final of the Agnam Cup in Zone 2.
More than just a prestigious patron, Farba Ngom acts as a local partner and financial backer. In Thiodaye and especially in the Nabadji district, his support has had a particularly strong impact on young people. Medals, balls, sets of jerseys, and substantial financial contributions have been distributed to local sports and cultural associations (ASC).
In Odobéré, the symbolism is powerful. Mayor Mousseyini Ndiaye, sponsor of the DME Cup, chose Farba Ngom as guest of honor, sealing the unity of the Fouta officials around the values of sport.
Welcoming the warm welcome he received at each stage, Farba Ngom praised the strong mobilization of the people, before renewing his commitment to supporting the youth during the final won by the Thialy team against the Thiemping team.
His statement of faith reaffirms his vision: "Sport unites, inspires and develops our youth. Supporting youth means building a better future for our country." For the local elected official, football transcends the simple game to become a privileged space for coming together, social cohesion and civic engagement.

Au commencement de cette fronde contre Farba, il y avait son engagement à financer leur projet pour 10 millions. Cette promesse les a maintenus près de lui, acceptant de faire toutes sortes de sale boulot. A la sortie de prison, ils le lui rappellent, il leur dit que ses comptes sont bloqués. Mais parallèlement à ça, dans l'actualité de tous les jours, c'est plus de 100 milliards que Farba a proposé comme caution pour éviter la prison. Le projet de Sadio Mané, c'est 12 milliards, pour 1000 emplois au départ, 2500 emplois à terme. Et depuis sa cellule de prison, Farba faisait des transactions a hauteurs de 10 milliards par des applications de ses téléphones. Et eux, depuis des années qu'ils étaient dans toutes les bagarres pour le défendre, ils n'avaient qu'une promesse de financement de 10 millions.
Face à ces faits, qui les ont réveillés, aucune communication, aucune campagne médiatique ne les replonger dans le sommeil. Leur réveil est irréversible.
