Sénégal vs Mozambique : Moussa Niakhaté sous le charme du nouveau staff et de sa méthode
On the eve of the match against Mozambique, Senegalese defender Moussa Niakhaté appeared at a press conference to discuss the Lions' preparation, marked by the arrival of the new staff and a still incomplete group.
The defender acknowledges that the preparation was rushed, with several players having only recently joined the camp: "We don't have all the players today. So we're not even at full strength yet. We only had our first real group session yesterday," he explained.
Despite this particular context, Niakhaté categorically refuses to see any mitigating circumstances before kick-off: "Everything is therefore being done in a certain haste. But we have no excuses and, tomorrow, we will be ready for this match," he firmly assures.
The team manager also welcomed the positive momentum brought by the new coaching staff. According to him, these changes have generated "enthusiasm, pride, and a lot of excitement" within the squad.
“He brings us a breath of fresh air, a lot of ideas and a lot of energy to help the national team and contribute to the effort,” the defender emphasizes.
Moussa Niakhaté finally emphasizes the group's perfect adaptation to the new working methods: "It's very easy to work with this staff, who speak the same football as us," he affirms, before expressing particular optimism for the future: "I am convinced that we will do great things together, because we speak the same language and, above all, we have the same objectives."
The Lions will hold their final training session this afternoon to fine-tune the last tactical adjustments before their opening match against Mozambique.
