Stade Léopold-Senghor : bonne nouvelle pour la pelouse
In a press release reported by Les Échos, the Ministry of Youth and Sports announced that the Léopold-Senghor Stadium will be available for the return matches of Senegal's representatives in the African Club Champions Cup, scheduled for this weekend. Diambars (CAF Confederation Cup) and Teungueuth FC (Champions League) will host, respectively, Espérance Sportive de Zarzis (Saturday, September 12) and FC Canchungo (Sunday).
The department headed by Djirèye Clotilde Coly has thus put an end to rumors that the Senghor Stadium was unavailable and that Senegalese clubs would be forced to relocate their home matches. The ministry took the opportunity to reassure the public about the condition of the stadium's pitch, stating that "an enhanced maintenance program has been in place since August 24th." "Technically supervised and monitored daily, this work aims to meticulously meet CAF requirements in order to provide a pitch that meets international standards," Les Échos reported, quoting the press release.
