Teungueth FC et Sénégal U20 éliminés : une soirée amère pour Malick Daf
Sunday, October 25th will be a day Malick Daf will never forget. In just a few hours, the Senegalese coach saw both his teams eliminated from their respective competitions. Between Teungueth FC's elimination from the African Champions League and the U20 Lionceaux's exit from the WAFU-A tournament, the evening turned into a nightmare.
The day had begun with hope for the teams managed by Malick Daf. But the scenario quickly turned into a disaster. Playing away in Cameroon, Teungueth FC failed to overcome their deficit against Colombe Sportive. Already beaten 2-0 in Dakar in the first leg, the Rufisque side suffered another defeat, 1-0. Eyango's goal, scored in the third minute, dashed the Senegalese hopes. With an aggregate score of 3-0, the Rufisque club exits the African Champions League prematurely and misses the opportunity to reach the group stage.
The disappointment continued a few hours later with the Senegalese U20 team. Facing Guinea in the semi-final of the WAFU-A tournament, a qualifier for the 2027 U20 Africa Cup of Nations, the Young Lions seemed well on their way to securing their place in the final. Led by a brace from Moussa Guèye (45+3 and 72nd minutes), Senegal took a two-goal lead before the Syli U20 clawed their way back to snatch a 2-2 equalizer at the end of regulation time.
Extra time proved fatal for the reigning African champions. In the 113th minute, the young Guineans scored a third goal to give Silly a 3-2 victory. This elimination is particularly painful for the young Senegalese, who thus lose all chance of participating in the next U20 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to be held in Ghana.
Defending champions Senegal will therefore miss this continental event for the first time since 2021. A major setback for a generation that hoped to continue the legacy of its predecessors.
In the space of a few hours, Malick Daf suffered two successive blows. Eliminated with Teungueth FC from the African stage, then stopped with the Indomitable Lions in the race for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, the Senegalese coach endured a dark evening, marked by two disappointments with significant consequences for his ambitions at both club and national team levels. This double elimination could reignite the controversy surrounding the accumulation of club and national team coaching duties.

Il n’y a qu’un seul coach au Sénégal : Malick DAF ?
Il y'a trop de légèreté dans ce pays.
Moussa Gueye était le seul joueur qui avait le niveau
