Upon returning from the locker room, the Lionceaux quickly extended their lead. Souleymane Commissaire Faye scored the second goal in the 48th minute, at the end of a beautiful team move.
Dominating the game, Senegal continued their demonstration. Cheikh Oumar Sy scored his second goal in the 69th minute to make it 3-0.
Completely overwhelmed, Mauritania then conceded a fourth goal late in the game. Amadou Ndiaye, who came on as a substitute in the second half, joined the party by scoring Senegal's final goal in the 87th minute.
With this resounding victory, Senegal, the reigning U17 African champions, make an ideal start to their WAFU-A tournament and immediately confirm their ambitions in the competition.
