Tournoi UFOA-A U20 : La Gambie en finale

Gambia's Young Scorpions secured their place in the final of the WAFU-A U20 tournament by winning convincingly (2-0) against Sierra Leone in Bamako.

The young Gambians started the match with great intensity. Agibou Dibba opened the scoring in the 8th minute, before Francis Gomez doubled the lead in the 31st minute with a superb curling shot.

Solid and determined in the second half, the men of coach Abdoulie Bojang were able to preserve their advantage until the final whistle.

This victory propels Gambia into the final, scheduled for Friday, where they will face either Senegal or Guinea. It also secures their place at the 2027 U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana.

This qualification comes just days after the Gambian U17 team won the WAFU Cup. That victory also secured the young Scorpions' qualification for the 2027 U17 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for March in Morocco.
