Trabzonspor : André Onana échappe au pire après un accident de la route
Cameroonian goalkeeper André Onana was involved in a traffic accident in Turkey on Thursday evening while returning home after Trabzonspor's 2-0 victory over Hearts in the Europa League. The 30-year-old was treated at the scene and taken to hospital for examination before being released.
According to initial reports, the vehicle carrying the former Manchester United goalkeeper and his family was violently rear-ended by another car traveling at high speed. The impact caused a pileup on the Yomra road, near Trabzon.
The incident caused considerable concern, but the news quickly proved reassuring. Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan confirmed that the goalkeeper's condition was not a cause for concern and wished him a speedy recovery.
On the pitch, Onana has delivered convincing performances for the Turkish club. Highly regarded by the fans, the Cameroonian has notably kept four clean sheets in his last five matches.
On loan for a season to Trabzonspor from Manchester United, where he is still under contract until 2028, the Cameroonian goalkeeper can now breathe a sigh of relief after this big scare.
