Violences à Ndiop Sao : le sous-préfet de Méouane suspend les Navétanes dans la zone des Niayes
The sub-prefect of Méouane has decided to suspend the Navétanes football tournament in the Niayes area, following the violent clashes that occurred last Monday in Ndiop Sao, in the commune of Darou Khoudoss, department of Tivaouane.
In a decree, the administrative authority justifies this measure by citing serious disturbances to public order, violence and assault, as well as the destruction of public and private property. The commander of the Mboro gendarmerie brigade is responsible for the execution of this decision.
The incidents broke out after the match between ASC Sao and ASC Diamono de Balsande. The sporting event degenerated into clashes between supporters of the two teams, who fought each other with stones.
These acts of violence resulted in significant material damage, with the ransacking and degradation of several public and private properties.
Given the seriousness of the situation and the risk of further unrest, the sub-prefect of Méouane has decided to suspend the Navétanes (traditional Breton football tournaments) throughout the Niayes region. This measure aims to prevent further violence and restore public order.
