Week-end des Sénégalais de l’étranger : Bamba Dieng brille en Serbie, Boulaye Dia, Sadio Mané et Jackson affichent la forme
Just days before Patrick Vieira announces his squad for the November international window, which counts towards the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Senegal's international players have been making their mark on pitches across Europe and Saudi Arabia. In England, Nicolas Jackson was once again decisive. In France, Boulaye Dia continues his impressive form, while in Saudi Arabia, Sadio Mané continues to showcase his clinical finishing. But the standout performance of the weekend belongs to Bamba Dieng, who scored a hat-trick in Serbia.
In France, during the 9th round of Ligue 1, Boulaye Dia found the back of the net once again. Having already scored against Strasbourg (3-0) last week, the Senegalese striker netted Rennes' first goal, but they were ultimately soundly beaten at Nice (5-2). The other Senegalese striker, Issa Soumaré, came on as a substitute in the 68th minute.
In the other all-Senegalese clash, Paris FC, with Moustapha Mbow coming on at halftime, dominated Monaco, featuring Lamine Camara and Sadibou Sané (3-1). Auxerre, with Lamine Sy, suffered a heavy defeat (5-1) away to Strasbourg, where Pape Demba Diop played. The same scenario played out for Le Havre, with Rassoul Ndiaye, who were swept aside by Paris Saint-Germain (5-1).
Lyon, with Moussa Niakhaté in the starting lineup, defeated Angers 2-0. Le Mans, with Habib Diallo in the starting eleven, lost 2-0 to Troyes. The first Troyes goal was scored by Senegalese midfielder Mouhamed Diop in the 33rd minute. Lens, without the injured Abdallah Sima, lost the northern derby to Lille 1-0. Meanwhile, Stade Brestois, with Pathé Mboup in the starting lineup, face Lorient on Monday.
In England , during the 9th matchday of the Premier League, Nicolas Jackson once again made headlines. The Senegalese striker scored Aston Villa's only goal in their 1-1 draw against Fulham. This was his fourth league goal of the season for the English club.
Manchester City and Iliman Ndiaye were surprised by Brighton (0-1). El Hadji Malick Diouf remained on the bench and did not feature in Brentford's victory against Nottingham Forest (2-0). Without the injured Ismaïla Sarr, Crystal Palace lost to Tottenham (2-0). Habib Diarra, also absent, was unable to prevent Sunderland's defeat at Coventry (3-1). Meanwhile, Nobel Mendy started in central defense for Hull City's draw against Ipswich (2-2).
In Spain , the 11th round of La Liga didn't go well for all the Senegalese players. Pape Gueye's Villarreal suffered a home defeat against Espanyol (0-1). The Senegalese midfielder was suspended and did not participate in the match. At home, Pathé Ciss's Rayo Vallecano comfortably defeated Celta Vigo (3-0), but the Senegalese player was absent. Real Sociedad, with Mamadou Sarr in the starting lineup, lost away to Athletic Bilbao (2-1).
In Italy, for Matchday 10, Assane Diao (Como) and Idrissa Gueye (Udinese), both injured, were absent. Paul Mendy, who came on in the 46th minute, couldn't prevent Cagliari's defeat against Lazio (2-1). Juventus, with Pape Matar Sarr remaining on the bench, dominated Napoli (2-0).
In Germany , Bara Sapoko Ndiaye, recently operated on for appendicitis, did not participate in the Klassiker between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, which ended in a draw (2-2).
In Serbia, Bamba Dieng was the star of the weekend. The Senegalese striker scored a resounding hat-trick in Red Star Belgrade's 4-1 victory over Mačva Šabac. This outstanding performance confirms his smooth adaptation to the Serbian league.
In Belgium , for the 10th matchday, Club Bruges, with Mamadou Diakhon coming on in the 70th minute, went on to win on the pitch of Zulte Waregem (4-2).
In Turkey, Ismail Jakobs' Galatasaray comfortably defeated Konyaspor 4-0 in the 10th round of matches. The Senegalese full-back, recently retired from the national team, watched the game from the substitutes' bench.
In Saudi Arabia , during the 12th matchday, Sadio Mané found the back of the net again. The Senegalese striker scored Al-Nassr's fourth goal in their 5-3 victory over Al-Kholood. The Lions' number 10 also distinguished himself by providing an assist for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Abdou Diallo and Dion Lopy were absent from the match between Abha and Al-Ittihad (1-1). Despite a goal from Idrissa Gana Gueye, Al-Diriyah lost at home to Malang Sarr's NEOM SC (1-2). Meanwhile, Mory Diaw's Al-Shabab crushed Édouard Mendy's Al-Ahli (6-1), with Mendy absent for this match.
Finally, Al-Hilal, with Kalidou Koulibaly, dominated Al-Fateh (2-0), while Al-Faisaly, with Abdoulaye Seck, fell heavily on the pitch of Al-Fayha (4-1).

Ce n'est pas ce qu'ils font à l'étranger qui m'intéresse mais ce qu'ils font en équipe nationale.
