Cérémonie d'ouverture JOJ 2026 : Sorties d'autoroute, parkings et bus gratuits, tout ce qu'il faut savoir avant de partir
On the occasion of the opening ceremony of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games organized on October 31 at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium, the Ministry of Land and Air Transport (MITTA) formalized all the arrangements taken to ensure the smooth movement of the thousands of spectators expected.
The key measure is the complete free use of public transport upon presentation of the ticket for the ceremony. This applies to the Regional Express Train (TER), the Dem Dikk 504A bus line, the GTS network, and shuttle buses specifically designated for spectators.
A strengthened and diversified transport network
In order to serve the sports infrastructure in Diamniadio, the authorities have structured the transport offer along several main axes:

The Regional Express Train (TER) will operate with a frequency of one train every 8 minutes departing from Dakar station. Passengers are advised to disembark at Diamniadio station, from where they can take the Dem Dikk 504A circular bus line to reach Abdoulaye Wade Stadium, the Dakar Arena, the Exhibition Center, or the Equestrian Center directly. The connection also remains operational from Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD).
For travellers coming from the Thiès region, the GTS railway line offers a direct Thiès – Diamniadio connection with two scheduled departures at 15:00 and 15:40 for the ceremony, before a connection with the 504A bus line.
In addition, an extensive network of Youth Olympic Games spectator shuttles operates with staggered departures between 1:25 p.m. and 5:45 p.m., with the last arrival scheduled for 6:15 p.m. in Diamniadio. These shuttles serve several strategic points in the region: the African Renaissance Monument (Ouakam), Grand Médine, the National Arena (Pikine), the Amadou Barry Stadium (Guédiawaye), the former Total gas station (Keur Massar), Place de France (Thiès), and the Mbour Stadium.
Road access , parking and safety instructions
For spectators traveling by private vehicle on the A1 motorway towards Diamniadio, the traffic management plan identifies three main exits: Exit 10 (General Public Access), Exit 11 (Reserved exclusively for authorized and accredited personnel and emergency access routes), and Exit 12 (General Public Access). Strict emergency lanes are maintained at each exit for interventions by the SAMU (Emergency Medical Service) and the fire brigade.
Regarding on-site parking, car parks P13, P14 and P15, located north of the ministerial complexes (near Seneguindia), are reserved for the general public. Participants and spectators registered for the "Youth in Play" program have access to the inner car park of the ministerial complexes and the spaces along the central median.
Upon arrival at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium, visitors are asked to strictly follow the marked pedestrian routes, comply with the instructions of security personnel and mobility volunteers, and keep all security corridors clear. To facilitate real-time travel, MITTA recommends downloading the "CETUD mobilités" application and consulting the official platform montrajetjoj.sn .
