Surcharge dans les bus « TATA » : Guy Marius Sagna interpelle le gouvernement sur la sécurité des usagers
The chronic overcrowding of buses commonly known as "TATA" has been raised in the National Assembly. In a written question addressed to the government, Guy Marius Sagna alerted the public to the transport conditions endured daily by thousands of Senegalese and called for urgent measures to improve passenger safety.
The MP points out that, despite their essential role in the mobility of populations, "TATA" buses frequently carry a number of passengers far exceeding their authorized capacity.
He believes this situation exposes travellers to significant security risks, while also compromising their comfort and dignity.
Guy Marius Sagna points out that every day, workers, students, and many other citizens travel in conditions he considers alarming. He believes this overcrowding is becoming commonplace, while protecting human life and adhering to safety standards should be an absolute priority.
Furthermore, the parliamentarian asks the relevant minister to specify the measures already taken and those planned to guarantee the safety of passengers using "TATA" buses. He also questions the government on its commitment to ensuring strict adherence to the authorized capacity limits of public transport vehicles, strengthening controls, and implementing solutions that balance passenger safety, human dignity, and the economic viability of the transport sector.
