Décès d'un nourrisson à l'hôpital Ndamatou de Touba : la famille évoque une injection fatale, la direction promet la transparence
An alleged medical scandal has rocked the Touba Ndamatou Public Health Establishment (EPS), where a baby of approximately nine months old died. According to the family, the infant received an injection that caused his death. A poster circulating on social media, titled "Justice for SS Dieng, 9 months old," shows the child's face in a gold frame, with the establishment's facade in the background. The poster reads: "A little angel gone too soon – We demand the truth."
The hospital management's account of the events
In response to the allegations and speculation circulating online, the administration issued an official statement dated October 9, 2026, in Touba Ndamatou, signed by the school's director. It stated its intention to "establish the facts objectively and transparently."
According to this document, the nine-month-old infant was admitted to the pediatric emergency department of the Touba Ndamatou Public Health Establishment on Friday, October 2, 2026. After being received by the medical team, he underwent an evaluation and received treatment. He was then transferred to intensive care following a cardiac arrest. The child died after three days in intensive care.
Management states that the exact cause of death has not been established. The facility says it initiated the necessary procedures for an autopsy on the same day, in accordance with regulations, and has launched an internal investigation.
As of the date of this press release, the autopsy results were "still pending." The hospital pledges to be transparent and to take all necessary measures in light of the findings of the autopsy and the internal investigation. It offers its condolences to the family and calls on the public to exercise restraint, respect the mourning period, and await the results.
The family version
For their part, SS Dieng's family maintains that the infant received an injection and that this caused his death. This version fuels the theory of medical negligence circulating on social media. At this stage, no official evidence has been found to confirm or deny it.
While management claims to be awaiting the results, Seneweb sources indicate that the autopsy results are indeed available. According to these same sources, investigators are now awaiting the results of the samples taken.
