Homosexualité : Thérèse Faye exige des réponses sur l’apologie et des symboles LGBT distribués aux écoliers
During the debate on the amendment of Article 319 of the Penal Code relating to homosexuality, MP Thérèse Faye strongly criticized the government, believing that the promise of criminalization made to the Senegalese people had not been kept.
She argues that while the text does toughen the law, the explanations provided by the government are unconvincing. "The people demanded the criminalization of homosexuality, and you delivered the toughening. Your campaign promise has not been kept," she asserted.
Thérèse Faye also denounced the existence of an association that allegedly funds young people using a receipt and an LGBT logo, questioning the role of the Ministry of the Interior in this matter. "You, Minister of the Interior, owe us an explanation," she insisted.
The MP finally asked the government to clarify the planned measures regarding the promotion of homosexuality and expressed concern about the LGBT colors and logos that are rampant on promotional items distributed to schoolchildren. "We want to know what measures will be taken to protect our children from these influences," she added.
Faced with the growing concern of some parliamentarians about preventing the promotion of homosexuality in the country, beyond just reforming the Penal Code, she suggests equating the actor with terrorism. "This deliberate transmission of HIV terrorizes families," she says.
