JOJ Dakar 2026 : Le défi de Diagna Ndiaye avant son départ du CNOSS
With less than two weeks to go before the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, the president of the Organizing Committee reassured everyone about the smooth preparations for this international event. During a meeting this Saturday with Senegalese sports federations, he called for unity within the sports movement and clarified the situation regarding American participation and transparency in management. He also confirmed that he would not seek another term as head of the Senegalese National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSS), a position he has held since 2006.
"I am the president of the Cnoss. This is also my last term. The rules allow me to run again, but I will not do so," he declared, thus removing any ambiguity about his intentions as the end of his term approaches, scheduled for December 2026.
The president of the COJOJ also sought to clarify reports concerning a possible American boycott. He mentioned his meeting with the US ambassador to confirm American participation.
Diagna Ndiaye reminded everyone that these Games transcend individual interests and personal considerations.
"These Games are not organized for Mr. Abdoulaye Fall, nor for Mr. Vieira, nor for Mr. Ndiaye. They are organized for Senegal," he insisted.
