Africa is hosting the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) for the first time in history. Dakar is the host city for the event, which will take place from October 31 to November 13. But this celebration of youth will not be limited to professional athletes and will not be confined to the city center, Diamniadio, and Saly. The Dakar suburbs and their young amateur athletes will also be involved. This is thanks to the Municipal Development Agency (ADM), through a groundbreaking and high-impact initiative: the territorialized Youth Olympic Games.

The aim is to mobilize over 600 young people from the twelve municipalities involved in the Stormwater Management and Climate Change Adaptation Project (PROGEP) 2 to compete in around ten different disciplines. The ADM (Association for the Development of the Mountains) has gone all out to ensure the success of this concept, dubbed "Localized Youth Olympic Games."
