Blood donation day: Coris Bank International Senegal employees mobilize to save lives

Journée de don de sang : Les employés de Coris Bank international Sénégal se mobilisent pour sauver des vies

The Coris Bank International Senegal Employees' Association (AMECBIS) organized a blood drive on Thursday, August 20, 2026. This annual event, now in its second year, was held at the institution's headquarters in Almadies, Dakar, under the chairmanship of Mr. Sibiri Traoré, Director of Commitments, representing the Managing Director of Coris Bank International Senegal.

"A powerful moment of solidarity, sharing and collective commitment"

The blood donation day organized by the Coris Bank International Senegal Employees' Association (AMECBIS) was a powerful moment of solidarity, sharing, and collective commitment. This social and civic action within the banking institution mobilized all employees, as well as clients and partners.

On this occasion, the president of AMECBIS reflected on the significance of this important day. "It is with immense pleasure and great pride that I speak on behalf of the Coris Bank association on the occasion of this blood donation day, which represents a powerful moment of solidarity, sharing, and collective commitment," emphasized Mr. Sidya Boly.

He adds: "Through this initiative, we are highlighting a value that is dear to us at Coris Bank: 'sociability,' this ability to create connections, to get closer to others and above all to contribute positively to the well-being of our community.

For him, donating blood is a simple, voluntary, and profoundly human act; and a single donation can help save several lives. "Today, our commitment is particularly aimed at helping those who need it most: accident victims, burn victims, women during childbirth, as well as many patients facing situations requiring blood transfusions," explained Mr. Sidya Boly, president of the Coris Bank International Senegal Employees' Association; before thanking the general management for their support and guidance in this initiative.

"This is an excellent initiative that I was determined to be a part of."

Ms. Nadia Ndoye is the head of the research and development unit at Coris Bank International Senegal. After donating blood, she praised this wonderful initiative by the Coris Bank International Senegal employees' association. "It's an excellent initiative that I absolutely wanted to participate in. Last year, unfortunately, I wasn't able to participate. That's why this year, I was determined to come," she emphasized.

"There is no better way to serve humanity than to save lives."

The risk manager of Coris Bank International Senegal also participated in this important day of solidarity. Like his colleague, Mr. Kara Drissa maintained that this blood donation is a good deed. "I believe it's a good deed because there's no better way to serve humanity than by saving lives. If we have this opportunity to donate blood to others who need it to regain their health and the joy of living, it's truly the best way to serve," he asserted, adding that this was the second time he had donated blood.

The goal is to collect 160 to 200 units of blood.

Present to preside over the meeting on behalf of the Managing Director, Mr. Sibiri Traoré, Director of Commitments at Coris Bank International Senegal, attested to the management's commitment to the association. "My presence here demonstrates the strong commitment of the management to the association in this noble act of blood donation," he stated.

For him, blood donation is a simple act but with a great impact that saves lives.

The representative of the CEO of Coris Bank International Senegal also stated that the first edition was a great success with over 150 donors. He indicated that this year's goal is to reach 160 to 200 participants.

Local businesses are invited to follow in the footsteps of Coris Bank International Senegal.

This second edition of the AMECBIS blood donation day was also attended by the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of SGS Senegal, Mr. Moussa Sène. According to the CFO of this company, whose headquarters are located in the same building as Coris Bank International Senegal, this day is a great opportunity to donate blood, as some people don't often have the time to go to the blood transfusion center.

In this regard, he thanked the association for initiating this day. Moussa Sène also encouraged local businesses to follow in the footsteps of Coris Bank International Senegal.
