Loos-en-Gohelle : À 186 m du sol, une funambule traverse 400 m sur un fil, sans filet ni harnais
Tightrope walker Tatiana-Mosio Bongonga, 42, connected the two twin slag heaps (artificial hills), the highest in Europe, on a 400-meter wire stretched 186 meters above the ground. A breathtaking feat accomplished on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
Without a harness or net, on a cable only 16 mm in diameter, the artist completed the crossing in 36 minutes and 15 seconds, under the eyes of more than 9,000 spectators gathered at the foot of the slag heaps.
A silver costume, pauses suspended under the wire, acrobatic figures and salutes to the public, the performance, organised by Culture commune as part of the European Heritage Days, held the mining basin in suspense.
This wasn't her first desire. "In 2019, during the La Constellation imaginaire festival in Lens, she had already declared: 'One day, I'll go there' while looking at the slag heaps," local media revealed. Seven years later, the dream became a reality.
The feat, respectful of the UNESCO-listed site, mobilized more than 200 volunteer cavallettiers tasked with stabilizing the cable from the ground, as well as live musicians.

Tu réussis, on parle de toi pendant deux jours et on t’oublie.
Le jour ou tu tombes et tu meurs il ne faudra pas être triste ce sera juste une chute artistique
Vivre caché. Il n’y a rien de tel.
