Mollé Walo : Le pari agricole de la Haute Autorité du Waqf contre la pauvreté
In Dabia, in the Matam region, the High Authority of Waqf (HAW) is focusing on agriculture to transform a 50-hectare estate into a tool for combating poverty and promoting food sovereignty for vulnerable households. Led by its Director General, Dr. Ahmed Lamine Athie, a HAW delegation visited the site, located in the village of Mollé Walo, on July 29, 2026, accompanied by the mayor of the commune, Dr. Yaya Abdoul Kane. On site, local residents expressed their expectations for this public agricultural Waqf project, which aims to establish sustainable and income-generating agriculture in the area.
Prior to this site visit, a meeting held at Dabia town hall was marked by the renewal of the partnership agreement between HAW and the municipality, in the presence of the Sub-Prefect of the Agnam Civol district, Mr. Babacar Diagne. This agreement outlines the terms of operation for the agricultural area granted to HAW. Seneweb presents the highlights of this visit.
