Parcelles Assainies : 15 jours d’insalubrité, les habitants de l’unité 18 à bout
For over two weeks, residents of Unit 18 in the Parcelles Assainies district have been living through a nightmare. The cause? The overflowing of the central sewer, which is flooding the streets and even some homes with wastewater. Residents are denouncing the lack of intervention and fear a public health crisis.
An unsanitary situation that is poisoning the daily lives of local residents. Polluted water stagnates in the neighborhood. Even more worrying, children wade through this wastewater daily, risking exposure to disease. For the residents, this situation constitutes a genuine threat to public health.
Faced with this ordeal, residents say they have made numerous calls and complaints to the National Sanitation Office of Senegal (ONAS), without obtaining a concrete response, according to FB, a notable from the neighborhood.
Exasperated by the continued disturbances, the people denounce a situation that has become untenable and directly appeal to ONAS and the competent authorities.
They are demanding urgent intervention to clean the sewer system, restore wastewater drainage, and put an end to this unsanitary situation. For the residents of Unit 18, action is needed before this sanitation problem escalates into a public health crisis.
