Road rehabilitation in Cité Senghor-Silmang: Serigne Khadim Lô Gaydel's strong message

Réhabilitation de la route Cité Senghor-Silmang: le message fort de Serigne Khadim Lô Gaydel

Serigne Khadim Lô Gaydel expressed his satisfaction following the launch of the road rehabilitation works linking Cité Senghor to Silmang. The religious leader, who resides in the holy city of Bakhdad, welcomed this initiative spearheaded by the mayor of Thiès, Dr. Babacar Diop.

According to Serigne Khadim Lô Gaydel, the project is timely. He points out that the road was in a state of advanced disrepair, making travel difficult for the local population.

For the religious leader, the rehabilitation of this road is a real relief, particularly for the residents of Bakhdad. He believes that improving this road will have a direct impact on the mobility of the population and the accessibility of the religious city.

The residents, too, proudly welcomed this initiative by the mayor, which they consider a concrete response to a long-standing concern.

Serigne Khadim Lô Gaydel also congratulated the mayor of Thiès on the achievements undertaken in the city. He praised what he considers Dr. Babacar Diop's attachment to his homeland and his commitment to the development of Thiès.

"Dr. Babacar Diop is someone who loves Thiès and who contributes daily to its development," he emphasized.

But beyond the satisfaction brought about by the road's rehabilitation, the religious leader stressed the need to preserve the infrastructure. He appealed to the local population to ensure its upkeep and cleanliness.

He specifically urged them to stop dumping wastewater onto the road, a practice that could accelerate its deterioration. Serigne Khadim Lô Gaydel believes that every resident should consider this infrastructure as their own property and contribute to its preservation.

For his part, the mayor of Thiès, Dr. Babacar Diop, reaffirmed his ambition to make Thiès "the leading city in Senegal." To achieve this goal, the mayor believes that infrastructure development, particularly roads, is a priority.

"The city council does not have enough resources, but we are in the process of finding solutions to restore the roads of Thiès to good condition," he said.
