Sargal Président Diomaye et le DG Doune Pathé Mbengue : Le maire Bamba Fall et les amis du DG du Port de Dakar magnifient le travail entamé
Under the banner of republican patriotism, the grand Sargal (a traditional Senegalese gathering) of the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, was held on Sunday, September 27th, at the Douta Seck Cultural Center in Dakar. Organized by the friends of Doune Pathé Mbengue from the Medina district, this political event aimed not only to bring together the youth of Medina and other Dakar districts to celebrate the work undertaken by Director General Doune Pathé Mbengue since taking office at the head of the Autonomous Port of Dakar, but also to celebrate the work carried out by the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, since his election. The gathering took place in a festive atmosphere, presided over by Doune Pathé Mbengue and Mayors Bamba Fall and Moustapha Diop.
Objective: "to bring together the youth of Medina and other neighborhoods of Dakar in order to celebrate the work begun by the President of the Republic and the Director General of the PAD"
According to El Hadji Kassé, coordinator of the Friends of Doune Pathé Mbengue movement in the Medina neighborhood, the Head of State has not taken any public stance since his election. "We organized this Sargal (a traditional Senegalese gathering) for President Diomaye Faye, but also for the Director General of the Autonomous Port of Dakar, Doune Pathé Mbengue. This event brings together all the young people of Medina and other neighborhoods of Dakar to celebrate the work begun by Director General Doune Pathé Mbengue at the Port of Dakar, and also to celebrate the work already accomplished by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, who, as head of state, has not taken any public stances. He is here for all Senegalese people. He is developing the country, and we must support him so that young people can find work," explained the organizer of the gathering.
He adds: "We are therefore counting on the Director General Doune Pathé Mbengue, who is truly a role model for young people. Beyond the Port itself, we hope that Doune Pathé can be the next mayor of Dakar."
According to El Hadji Kassé, the current Director General of the Autonomous Port of Dakar is more about action than words and social media. "He's a Director General who, in almost a month, has transformed the port's image, not to mention the social impact in the Medina district and throughout Dakar," asserted the coordinator of the Friends of Doune Pathé Mbengue movement in Medina.
"Young people must have hope because they are the ones who keep the country alive."
The Director General of the Autonomous Port of Dakar, delighted with this initiative, reassured Senegalese youth in his address. He emphasized that young people must have hope. "Young people must have hope because they are the ones who keep the country alive. In any case, I want to be part of this youth, one of these leaders who are reviving hope in this country, starting here in Medina. Medina is highly symbolic of restored peace; Medina is symbolic of hope. It is because from here that the torch of Islam was raised to its highest point. I am among those who believe that it is only through faith that we will develop this country, and nothing else. I want all young people to believe this message," declared Doune Pathé Mbengue.
“All the initiatives that had been put on hold, aimed at providing employment for young people, will be revived. The President of the Republic has taken all the necessary steps to ensure that hundreds of thousands of jobs for young people will be created in this country in the coming months. Those who were asleep at the wheel will be awakened for the benefit of the youth. It is within this framework that I have reinstated all the young people who were sent back to the Port. What we believe is that we must work together with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to develop the country so that everyone benefits,” he added.
In this regard, Waly Diouf Bodiang's successor was keen to clarify: "So, Mr. Mayor, we did not come here for politics. We came to commend your initiative and to offer our support in everything you are doing for the cleanliness of the Medina, because mayors are tired," Doune Pathé Mbengue stated, before asking the mayor of Medina to join the presidential party, along with all the people of Medina, so that Dakar can be in the running for Kiraay, the Republican Patriots.
“Kiraay is beyond political party politics. Kiraay is an initiative to restore Senegal. Patriotism without the republic is meaningless. This is what President Bassirou Diomaye Faye understood,” argued the Director General of the PAD.
Thus, he announces a new development: "I thank those who have already understood it. That is why, moreover, we have a major initiative: an important march. We want to mobilize the youth of Senegal around this great march of hope and youth, here in Dakar, and which will be led by the President of the Republic."
Doune Pathé Mbengue also called on all Senegalese to join this Kiraay movement which, according to him, is the one that will preserve the Republic of Senegal.
A large quantity of cleaning equipment donated to the municipality
During this meeting, the Director General of the PAD also offered a significant amount of cleaning equipment to the Medina town hall and to the various associations of the municipality in order to support them in their "Medina Set Wéthie" initiative launched by Mayor Bamba Fall, within the framework of the Dakar 2026 Olympic Games.
"Medina is delighted with this meeting."
The mayor of the Medina municipality made no secret of his joy at this political event. On this occasion, Bamba Fall reiterated the importance of support from certain large public companies for local municipalities. "Medina is pleased with this gathering today. Medina has 20 mayors: 19 municipal mayors and one city mayor. Therefore, each mayor honored here represents all the mayors," he emphasized at the start of his address.
Even better, he adds: “As sons of Dakar, coming to the site of the six Pencums of Dakar is a source of pride for us. That's why we left everything behind to show him that Medina is Cambérène and Cambérène is Medina. Mr. Director, it is God who granted this opportunity because, before you were appointed head of the Port, Dakar was yearning for a leader who could support the people of Dakar in their concerns. Because, under previous administrations, we all know that it was Lonase, the Autonomous Port of Dakar, Coud, and Senelec that provided assistance. But if all these companies have slipped through Dakar's fingers while the municipalities lack sufficient resources, then we're in for some serious trouble.”
For Bamba Fall, the Director General of the PAD is a good republican, the kind the country needs. "Director General, here is an example of a republican, here is an example of a great patriot. Senegal needs people like you. People who think about the republic, people who think about democracy, national solidarity, which should be above all else," the mayor of Medina asserted.
With that, Bamba Fall asked Doune Pathé Mbengue to tell the President of the Republic that their hearts are at peace with him. "Whether you are part of Kiraay or not, a nobleman who makes a noble gesture, you can only be happy, if you are a man. What I saw in New York, between him and President Macky Sall, no, a little man cannot do that," he rejoiced.
Finally, the mayor of Medina made a solemn appeal to the Head of State. "Mr. President, whether we are from Kiraay or not, remember that you have our support. Because if the ship we are on runs aground, we will all run aground," he concluded.

Sonko aurait pu faire des progrès mais a renoncé aux appels à candidatures et Diomaye nous enfonce dans la régression
Ou bien son objectif c'est de mobiliser Dakar si c'est le cas c'est triste mais sachez que Dakar ne gagne pas facilement avec juste de moyens demandez à pape Diop ou diouf sarr
Si le griot comprend qu'aucun membre du public ne croit un traître mot de ce qu'il raconte, c'est tant mieux. Personne ne fera quelque chose pour lui gâcher son gagne pain.
