Tivaouane: Launch of the "Usratul Amine" platform and the 1st International Scientific Colloquium on Sufism

As part of its activities to promote, enhance and transmit the spiritual and intellectual heritage of the Tidiane Tarikha, "Usratul Amine" organized an exceptional day on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Khalifa Ababacar SY RTA Complex in Tivaouane, dedicated to the official launch of the Usratul Amine digital platform and the Al Amine Digital Library website, as well as to the holding of the first International Scientific Colloquium on Sufism, bringing together academics, researchers, scholars, religious leaders, cultural actors and personalities from different backgrounds.

Through this important initiative, "Usratul Amine" aims to contribute to scholarly reflection on Sufism, to the preservation and transmission of its spiritual, cultural, and intellectual heritage, while fostering dialogue between generations and various stakeholders in society. This event, explains Serigne Sidy Ahmed Sy Al Amine, the spiritual leader of Usratul Amine, may at first glance appear to be "the launch of a simple digital tool. In reality, it is much more than that. It constitutes a new step in our collective commitment to preserving, documenting, promoting, and transmitting an exceptional legacy: that of our revered guide and role model, Serigne Abdoul Aziz Sy Al Amine (RTA)."

He believes that this portal, www.usratulamine.sn, is precisely in line with this desire to make this heritage more accessible, particularly through information, publications, activities, and initiatives led by Usratul Amine. "We live in a world where the methods of transmitting knowledge are undergoing profound transformations, where the book remains essential, the spoken word remains essential, and personal transmission also remains essential," the religious leader emphasizes.

But, he continued, in addition to these traditional methods, there is now an essential space: the digital realm. Thanks to the global network, the internet now makes it possible to overcome distances, reach different generations, make resources available, and create a collective memory accessible to the widest possible audience. This is why we have chosen to put digital technology at the service of memory, knowledge, and transmission.

The platform, he said, should allow everyone, wherever they are, to learn more about Usratul Amine, its activities, values, initiatives, and the intellectual and spiritual heritage that forms the foundation of its work. Through this platform and that of the Al Amine Library, we want to offer our community, researchers, students, journalists, partners, and the general public a genuine space
