Touba : Serigne Saliou Ndiguël Thioune honore la mémoire de son père Cheikh Béthio Thioune
The mausoleum of Sheikh Béthio Thioune, erected in the Bakhiya cemetery in Touba, was opened this Saturday at the initiative of his successor, Serigne Saliou Ndiguël Thioune. The ceremony was held in the presence of Serigne Bassirou Mbacké Abdou Khadre, spokesperson for Serigne Mountakha Mbacké, the general successor of the Mourides, as well as other religious authorities and numerous members of the Thiantacounes.
In his speech, Serigne Saliou Ndiguël Thioune expressed his joy at having carried out to the letter the Ndigueul (instruction) of the Caliph General, which consisted of burying his father in Touba, stating that he had received the holy man's blessing in doing so. He made a point of thanking Serigne Bassirou Mbacké Abdou Khadre for his unwavering support, as well as the Caliph of Serigne Saliou Mbacké.
Speaking in turn, the spokesperson for Serigne Mountakha referred to confidences from Cheikh Béthio Thioune and to the Ndigueul of Serigne Mountakha which presided over this burial.
