The Director General of the Aristide Le Dantec Hospital, Dr. Mansour Diop, has broken his silence to remove any ambiguity regarding his participation in a community gathering organized in Parcelles Assainies by his wife, Fatou Kiné Diakhaté, Deputy Chief of Staff to Diomaye Faye.
Firmly rejecting accusations of defection, the medical professional clarifies that the spousal support given to his spouse cannot in any way be equated with political support.
Dr. Mansour Diop explains that the meeting in question was part of local development initiatives and was not endorsed by the Diomaye President coalition. While he chose to be present alongside his wife to encourage her work in service to her community, he emphasizes that her positions and political orientation are entirely her own.
Wishing his partner good luck in her personal choices, he states unequivocally that he never intended to follow her into politics.
To dismiss the grievances concerning alleged disloyalty to his political party at the time, the director general points out that he actively continued his fieldwork under the banner of Pastef.
At that time, he had not only renewed his membership card, but was also conducting training sessions for the women of his locality, while preparing other major events for the party.
Dr. Mansour Diop denounces maneuvers orchestrated by certain officials aimed at exploiting his wife's efforts to marginalize him. He cites, in particular, his arbitrary exclusion from the party's internal communication channels, initiated by the former Director General of Health, seeing it as an illustration of personal conflicts and a managerial deficit within certain bodies.
Asserting that he had invested his own material and financial resources in establishing the party in his municipality without ever seeking positions of responsibility, the head of the Le Dantec hospital specifies that his resignation stems exclusively from a deep feeling of lack of consideration, the rise of lobbying and internal score-settling which he could no longer tolerate.
