CFEE, BFEM, Bac : Tivaouane présente 18 681 candidats aux examens de fin d’année
For the various end-of-year school exams (CFEE, BFEM, Baccalaureate) in 2026, the Tivaouane department will host 18,681 candidates. The announcement was made by the Inspector of Education and Training (IEF), Issa Ndior, during a preparatory meeting held at the prefecture.
He stated that 9,864 students are registered for the Elementary School Leaving Certificate (CFEE), including 5,681 girls, representing a slight decrease in enrollment compared to the previous year. He highlighted the main innovation of this session, namely the elimination of the entrance exam for 6th grade.
For the Brevet de fin d'études moyennes (BFEM), 5,987 candidates are expected, including 3,574 girls, an increase of 571 candidates compared to last year.
Regarding the baccalaureate, according to the IEF (Inspectorate of Education and Training), 2,830 candidates are registered, including 1,636 girls and 1,194 boys. Issa Ndior indicated that the humanities track remains by far the most popular with 2,121 candidates, compared to 701 for the science track.
The CFEE exams will take place on June 17 and 18, 2026, with a make-up session scheduled for October 13 and 14. The baccalaureate exams will begin on June 30, while the BFEM is scheduled for July 14. The baccalaureate make-up session is set for October 1, 2026.
