Côte d’Ivoire : Bientôt des drones pour distribuer des médicaments aux hôpitaux des zones difficiles d'accès
In Côte d'Ivoire, the government, in partnership with the company ZIPLINE, will build approximately ten drone-based storage and distribution centers for medical supplies. The announcement was made during the Council of Ministers meeting on Wednesday, September 9th. The aim of this project is to ensure the regular and secure supply of strategic inputs and blood products, particularly, to healthcare facilities located in certain hard-to-reach areas.
With the support of the United States
A pilot center will first be opened in Daloa before the sites in Biankouma, San Pedro and Kouto are established. All of this within a period of 27 months.
The project will then expand to 6 additional centers located in the Autonomous District of Abidjan and in the regions of Indénié-Djuablin, Gbêkê, Kabadougou, Bélier and Gontougo.
The establishment of the centers is funded by the United States through a donation. The Ivorian government will cover the costs associated with the services.
