Cotonou : Guy Marius Sagna dénonce un encerclement policier de la Bourse du Travail
Tensions were high this Thursday at the Cotonou Labor Exchange. Beninese police forces surrounded the building around 3:30 PM. The Senegalese MP and ECOWAS parliamentarian was scheduled to speak there at 4 PM on Thursday as a guest at a meeting with trade unionists, citizens, and pan-Africanists.
In a post shared on social media, the parliamentarian denounced the police intervention: "The Beninese police have been surrounding the Cotonou Labour Exchange since at least 3:30 pm, where I was invited as a member of parliament," he wrote.
The MP also asked about the role of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in these terms: "ECOWAS of the people, where are you? A hundred comments!", he wondered.
