Just days before the official start of the season, Fermín López spoke about the numerous changes at FC Barcelona. The Spanish midfielder discussed his new number and the arrival of Rodri, whom he considers one of the Catalan team's major reinforcements.

But I’m sure it will be in good hands,” he explained in an interview with Diari Ara.

Fermín Lopez then spoke highly of Rodri. The two players already know each other, having played together for the Spanish national team. According to the Barcelona player, the new Barça midfielder possesses all the qualities to quickly establish himself.

“He is an exceptional player, Ballon d’Or winner and world champion. I had the chance to play with him in the national team and, for me, he is the best player in his position. He will bring us a lot,” said Fermín Lopez.

Rodri's switch from number 16 thus appears symbolic of the new hierarchy emerging within Barça. For his part, Fermín López now hopes to reach a new level in the Blaugrana jersey, wearing the prestigious number 7.
