Gambie : Une tentative de migration irrégulière déjouée à Brufut, 7 Sénégalais parmi les personnes interceptées
Gambian authorities thwarted an attempt at irregular migration in Brufut on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. The operation was carried out by the Border Patrol Unit (BPU) of the Gambian Department of Immigration (GID), with support from the Spanish Civil Guard.
During this operation, security forces intercepted 14 people suspected of attempting to reach Europe clandestinely by sea. These included five Gambians, seven Senegalese, and two Malians , comprising 12 adults (10 men and two women) and two minors.
They also seized a 60 HP outboard motor and arrested and detained two individuals suspected of being involved in organizing this attempted migration.
