Niger : l’ambassadeur du Tchad convoqué après une frappe de drone
Nigerien authorities summoned the Chadian ambassador to Niamey on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, following a drone strike that occurred on October 24 in the Agadez region.
According to the Nigerien government, this attack, allegedly launched from Chadian territory with the support of a foreign power, resulted in the deaths of two civilians and left several others wounded. Niamey denounces this as a violation of its sovereignty and announces its intention to refer the matter to the UN Security Council and the African Union Peace and Security Council.
Niger is also calling for an independent international investigation to shed light on the circumstances of this strike.
