Elected president of the Senate on August 6, 2026, the former Beninese head of state, Patrice Talon, made his first official appointment.

This is Mr. Edouard Ouin-Ouro, a labor administrator. His mission will be to "ensure the routine administrative and financial tasks necessary for the functioning of the Senate until the adoption of the Senate's Administrative Regulations and the establishment of the bodies of the Senate's General Secretariat."

Édouard Ouin-Ouro is a former collaborator of President Talon. He was the Secretary General of his government.
