Soudan : Plus de 220 morts dans une frappe de drone sur un marché
A drone strike targeting the Amiet market in the disputed Abyei region on the border between Sudan and South Sudan killed more than 220 people on Monday, October 19, 2026. Local authorities attribute the attack to the Sudanese army.
According to the acting information minister of the Abyei administration, the death toll, initially estimated at 73, has risen above 200. Several people remain missing, and fires caused by the explosions are complicating search and identification operations.
In response, South Sudan summoned the Sudanese ambassador to protest the attack. The UN also condemned the strikes, which affected numerous civilians, including women and children.
