Dahra : Braquage sanglant d'un point de transfert d'argent Wave, plus de 8 millions de FCFA emportés
A violent robbery took place on Monday, October 19, 2026, at around 8 p.m., in Dahra. A commando of eight hooded individuals, traveling in a white 4x4 vehicle, targeted a Wave money transfer point located on the road leading to Linguère, near the Bassirou Sidy Ndiaye municipal stadium.
The assailants, displaying extreme violence, first attacked the customers gathered outside the establishment, beating them severely and striking them with machetes. To deter any intervention from local residents and to instill terror, the robbers then fired several shots into the air.
Determined to leave no trace, the perpetrators systematically smashed the security cameras and the windows of the premises. At gunpoint, they then demanded that the manager, Mamadou Mbaye, hand over the entire cash register, which contained eight million CFA francs.
Having accomplished their crime, the eight robbers quickly vanished into thin air in their vehicle, heading towards the large Dahra livestock market.
Alerted immediately after the attack, members of the gendarmerie brigade promptly went to the scene of the tragedy to carry out the usual investigations and begin a search to find the perpetrators of this spectacular robbery.
