La Jordanie essuie deux attaques de missiles et de drones iraniens
The Jordanian army announced on Wednesday that it had suffered two Iranian attacks and intercepted six missiles and four drones, as Tehran retaliated against US bombings by striking Washington's allies in the region.
"Air defense systems detected six missiles today (Wednesday) originating from Iranian territory," according to a statement from the army, which specified that two of them had fallen in uninhabited areas.
The army added in a later statement that it had shot down "four drones originating from Iran that were targeting the territory of the kingdom".
These attacks caused "no casualties or material damage", according to the same source.
A little later, the Revolutionary Guards, the armed force of the Islamic Republic of Iran, claimed responsibility for attacks on "American bases in Jordan".
"An F-15 (aircraft) preparation hangar and a drone preparation hangar were targeted by missile and drone strikes," they said in a statement published by the official Fars news agency.
In another attack, "two heavy American helicopters were severely damaged," according to the Guardians.
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the chargé d'affaires of the Iranian embassy in Amman on Sunday to protest against the "continuation of Iranian aggression".
