Justice : un ancien maire envoyé en prison
The former mayor of Kafountine, V. Diatta, has been remanded in custody by the investigating judge of the Ziguinchor High Court. According to L'AS, which reported the information, he is being prosecuted in a case of alleged embezzlement of public funds, forgery and use of forged administrative documents, and complicity in forgery.
The former mayor was sent to prison along with another suspect, Mr. Diassy, a supervisor at the Kafountine high school. A third person implicated, S. Camara, a former tax collector at the town hall, was granted provisional release.
This procedure follows an investigation that began in 2019.
