À Mbour, la DER/FJ réaffirme son engagement aux côtés des entrepreneurs et mise sur l’éducation financière
After launching its territorial tour to inform, raise awareness and promote its support mechanisms, the General Delegation for Rapid Entrepreneurship for Women and Youth (DER/FJ) continued its journey in Mbour.
Led by the General Delegate, Dr. Abdoulaye Niane, this tour, scheduled from September 14 to 18, 2026, aims to strengthen the institution's proximity to local economic actors and to better adapt its support mechanisms to the realities of different territories.
In Mbour, the General Delegate praised the work done on the ground and reaffirmed the DER/FJ's commitment to strengthening its support for the benefit of the population.
In front of representatives of the territorial administration, elected officials and people from the different municipalities of the Mbour department, he assured that the DER/FJ intends to remain fully committed to entrepreneurs.
"The DER is by your side. It will be. It will accelerate its efforts. According to the instructions of the President of the Republic, we must work to have more impact, to be by your side," he stated.
This commitment should notably translate into a strengthening of training, formalization and financing actions, considered as essential levers to promote entrepreneurship and the economic empowerment of populations.
One of the major announcements made in Mbour concerns financial education. The DER/FJ plans to sign an agreement soon aimed at helping people gain a better understanding of financial services and mechanisms.
"People need to be educated, and financial services need to be of high quality," said the Delegate General.
For Dr. Abdoulaye Niane, financial education is an important component of public development policies. It should enable people to better understand financial products and services, but also to better benefit from the support and financing mechanisms available.
"This is a very important aspect which is in line with the fight for the development of the country, the fight to get out of poverty," he stressed.
The DER/FJ thus intends to support beneficiaries so that they can access quality financial services and use them more effectively.
In Mbour, the Delegate General also reiterated the institution's commitment to making its interventions "much more effective", in line with the guidelines announced by the authorities.
"We need to work to have more impact, to be by your side," he insisted.
According to him, this approach reflects the need to strengthen the presence of the DER/FJ in the territories and to better take into account the specific needs of the populations in the implementation of its programs.
Dr. Abdoulaye Niane also discussed the role of state representatives in the territories and the need, in his view, to preserve the republican character of the institutions.
"The Republic must stand tall. Those who represent the Republic in our localities must be up to the task," he declared, calling on state representatives to accompany the authorities' visits to the territories, beyond political considerations.
