Affaire Pape Abdoulaye Touré : quatre arrestations, dont deux vigiles de Pape Malick Ndour
Two years after he filed a complaint for kidnapping and torture, the Pape Abdoulaye Touré case has taken a new turn. In its edition of Friday, September 18, L'Observateur reveals four arrests: two former security guards employed by Pape Malick Ndour at the time of the events, and two employees of the Coud (the local social services agency), including a security manager. Placed in police custody and assisted by lawyer Takha Cissé, they are expected to be brought before the Dakar prosecutor's office.
Filed on September 9, 2024, the complaint concerns events that Pape Abdoulaye Touré claims to have experienced on the night of June 2, 2023, during a period of political unrest. He specifically implicated former ministers Pape Malick Ndour and Antoine Félix Diome, the former commander of the National Gendarmerie, General Moussa Fall, and a gendarme nicknamed "Chief Sow."
Led by the Research Section (SR), the investigation resulted in a reconstruction of the events. Sources at L'Observateur indicate that this reconstruction clarified the circumstances surrounding Pape Abdoulaye Touré's arrest. The evidence gathered places the incident in the neighborhood where Pape Malick Ndour and Mansour Faye, as well as the mother of former First Lady Marième Faye Sall, resided at the time. The area was under heightened surveillance due to threats targeting the homes of political figures.
The four defendants deny the plaintiff's accusations. The two security guards, quoted in the newspaper, maintain that their intervention was limited to "apprehending" Pape Abdoulaye Touré before handing him over to the gendarmes present in the area. They explain that they acted in a context marked by threats targeting the homes of government ministers.
One of the Coud agents claims he was not present at the scene. Sources interviewed by the Groupe Futurs Médias newspaper report that his involvement was limited to a phone call during which he was asked if Pape Abdoulaye Touré was still a student at UCAD. He reportedly replied that, according to his information, this was no longer the case.
