Dalifort : Le vendeur de « Maïga », la fille de 17 ans et la promesse d’emploi qui finit en grossesse
Malian national V. Traoré, 23, a vendor of "Maïga" (a local dish) based in Dalifort, is in serious trouble. He has been remanded in custody following an investigation by the Dalifort district police station. He is being prosecuted for indecent assault with violence and abduction of a minor. He is accused by his compatriot N. Togo, 17.
The investigation was triggered by a complaint filed on August 17 by L. Diarra, the young woman's cousin. According to his statement, N. Togo worked as a domestic worker at the Beaux Maraîchers train station. She was contacted by V. Traoré, who offered her a better-paying job. She quit her job and went to work for him. But the promised job never materialized. Instead, V. Traoré offered her 55,000 FCFA per month to stay at his home.
The girl explained to investigators that she had agreed to move in with the boy because she had nowhere else to spend the night. She also stated that V. Traoré had proposed marriage to her. The relationship lasted several months. The young woman admitted to having sexual relations with the accused. She claims to have become pregnant and identifies him as the father of her child.
The accused acknowledges the reports
V. Traoré does not deny having had a romantic relationship with Nafissatou. He states that she was his girlfriend in the past. He also acknowledges that she lived with him for three to four months and admits to having had sexual relations with her.
However, he denies having offered her a job or a monthly salary of 55,000 CFA francs. Furthermore, he denies being the father of the child.
Despite his denials, he was taken into custody on September 9th before being brought before the Pikine-Guédiawaye prosecutor's office on charges of abduction of a minor. He was ultimately remanded in custody on charges of indecent assault with violence and abduction of a minor. He will be tried in the summary court.
