Frayeur à l’aéroport de Nouakchott : Le Boeing de Transair fait une sortie de piste avec des joueurs de l’AS Douane à bord
A major scare at Nouakchott airport. Departing for Guinea where they were to play a crucial match against Hafia FC, the Mauritanian football club AS Douane was involved in a spectacular aircraft accident yesterday on the tarmac of Oumtounsy International Airport.

The aircraft, a Boeing 737-500 registered 6V-AJD and operated by the Senegalese airline Transair, veered sharply off course during its ground maneuver before running off the runway. The aircraft came to rest several meters away, its landing gear deeply embedded in the sand. No injuries or fatalities were reported.

According to reports from several Mauritanian media outlets, the aircraft is currently grounded awaiting recovery operations. Stranded in Nouakchott, where they were scheduled to travel to Conakry for their crucial second leg match against Hafia FC – following a 2-2 draw in the first leg on September 5th – in the CAF Confederation Cup, the AS Douanes players have seen their preparations severely disrupted.

The return leg, scheduled for this Friday in Conakry, has been cancelled due to the Mauritanian club's absence. The winner of this tie will face CR Belouizdad of Algeria in the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup, with the first legs scheduled from October 16 to 18 and the second legs from October 23 to 25.

Le vol retour de ce vendredi a été annulé et je viens de comprendre pourquoi.
Je ne voyagerai plus avec Transair
