Louga : Un élève de 11 ans mortellement poignardé par un autre mineur
The tragedy has plunged the Artillerie neighborhood of Louga into shock and dismay. On Sunday, September 27, 2026, around 9 p.m., 11-year-old Fallou Guèye, a student in CM1 (fourth grade) at the Mbanté elementary school, was fatally stabbed during an altercation with another minor.
According to initial reports, the victim, who was returning from a Dahira religious gathering , left his family home around 8 p.m. to meet up with friends his own age. An argument suddenly broke out between him and a 12-year-old Guinean boy, Ousmane Souaré. The quarrel quickly escalated into a violent physical altercation during which the assailant fatally stabbed the young student.
Seriously injured, Fallou Guèye lost a significant amount of blood at the scene of the attack. He succumbed to his injuries just before being rushed to the Amadou Sakhir Mbaye Regional Hospital in Louga.
Alerted to the incident, officers from the Louga central police station immediately went to the scene. The suspected perpetrator of the fatal blow was apprehended by the police and taken into custody for homicide. An investigation has been opened to determine the cause of the incident and the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
