Mbour : un célèbre chef religieux donne un violent coup de tête à sa femme, l'intimité du couple étalée sur la place publique
CT Aïdara is a renowned religious leader in Mbour and even beyond. Because of his marital problems, the public was able to discover a side of the renowned speaker that few people probably suspected until then: that of a violent husband determined to make his wife, Mr. Thiam's, life miserable.
The woman filed a complaint against the marabout for mistreatment, assault and battery, and the kidnapping of their 5-year-old child. The couple appeared before the Mbour court on Thursday regarding events that occurred last March, specifically on the day of Korité (Eid al-Fitr).
According to the account in L'Observateur, which attended the hearing, Mr. Thiam decided to run an errand to the corner store that day. Her husband objected and took the key to their apartment. The woman protested, persisting. "A violent altercation broke out between the couple," the newspaper recounts, quoting the plaintiff's testimony. "During the altercation, the marabout allegedly headbutted his wife. Her face disfigured and bloodied, Mr. Thiam grabbed onto her husband's clothes and dragged him behind the marital bed."
Alerted by the noise, the neighbors intervened. Mr. Thiam went to the Saly Portudal police station and filed a complaint against the man with whom he had shared his life for ten years.
In court, CT Aïdara swore he had never laid a hand on his wife, accusing her of manipulation. According to the newspaper published by Groupe Futurs Médias, he was very animated and accused his wife of having questionable acquaintances, which is why he decided to separate her from their 5-year-old child.
And as proof that he would be a good husband, mindful of his responsibilities, Aïdara revealed that despite her visual impairment, a consequence of a surgery that went wrong in Morocco, his wife "lacks nothing." "I give her everything she needs," he insists.
"Furious," continues L'Observateur, "the religious leader threatens his partner, declaring that their legal battle is far from over. He says he is ready to make her life miserable until her dying breath."
Speaking to the court, the plaintiff publicly detailed her turbulent marital life, marked in recent years by beatings. And despite this toxic atmosphere, she pointed out, CT Aïdara refuses to grant her a divorce.
“He always swore I would never leave his house, even though we no longer live in harmony,” Mr. Thiam denounces. “Our relationship has been struggling for years, but he still stubbornly insists on forcing me to stay with him. This also explains the numerous acts of violence he regularly inflicts on me. I can’t take it anymore.”
The court will deliver its verdict on September 24, according to L'Observateur, which reports that the prosecutor has requested the application of the law.

Je n’ai aucune sympathie pour nos féministes mais violenter une femme comme ça il faut être un salaud pour le faire.
J’espère qu’il ira en prison ne serait-ce que quelques jours.
