Yeumbeul : Un jeune de 21 ans arrêté pour le viol présumé d'une septagénaire sourde-muette et malvoyante
An unusual sex scandal has rocked the Ben Baraque neighborhood of Yeumbeul. B. Sidibé, 21, is accused of rape by K. Baldé, a 70-year-old deaf-mute and visually impaired woman. The young man was arrested by the Yeumbeul district police. The victim's poignant account!
In this story, on July 15th, Ms. K. Baldé, accompanied by her son M. Baldé, filed a complaint against B. Sidibé for the rape of a disabled person. With the assistance of her son, who translated her sign language, K. Baldé recounted her ordeal: “B. Sidibé is our roommate. He took advantage of my son's absence to sexually assault me. Knowing that I am deaf, mute, and visually impaired, he discreetly closed the main door to the house before grabbing me and forcibly taking me to his room. After locking his bedroom door, he gagged me with one hand while strangling me with the other to prevent me from screaming and thus force me to stop struggling. That's how he penetrated me before ejaculating.” After satisfying his lust, he asked me to say nothing before offering me money. When I started to cry, he rushed out of the house and ran away. I waited for my son and his wife to return so I could explain the situation to them in sign language,” the complainant explained. “How were you able to identify your attacker, given your blurred vision?” the investigating officer asked. She stated, “My vision is blurry, but I am not blind. I recognize my attacker. He is the lighter-skinned of the two brothers. I am certain it is the younger brother, named Baba Sidibé,” she said. “You maintain that the rape took place in the Sidibé brothers’ room. How were you able to orient yourself, given your vision problems?” the investigator pressed. The mother declared, “I repeat. My vision is just blurred.” "I am not blind. I can still distinguish shapes, and make identifications when necessary," the victim concluded.
Following his hearing, Commissioner Alexandre D. Sarré's men issued a request to the head of the gynecological service of the Yeumbeul health district to be informed about K. Baldé's situation.
Next, her son, Mr. Baldé, was heard as a witness. “My mother is congenitally deaf and mute. I have always lived with her since childhood. I never knew my father, who is deceased. I grew up under my mother's care. She is deaf and mute. She has always communicated with me using sign language. I grew up this way, mastering this form of communication and understanding everything she said to me. On the day of the events, July 14, 2026, I came home from work and found my mother in tears in front of her bedroom door. Worried, I asked her what had happened in our absence, using the sign language we use to communicate. She then told me that B. Sidibé, the son of our subtenant, had abused her.” She told me that he had taken her by surprise, grabbing her legs before dragging her into his room. She went on to say that he then locked her door, gagged her with one hand, and choked her with the other to prevent her from screaming and thus force her to stop struggling. He then penetrated her and promised her money if she agreed to remain silent.
The accused cries conspiracy…
After several days on the run, B. Sidibé, a 21-year-old tailor residing in the Ben Baraque neighborhood, turned himself in to the police station on September 7th. The young man denied the rape charges. "I didn't rape her. She's old and senile. If I needed to satisfy my libido, I would have hired a prostitute. I didn't go to the house on the day of the alleged incident. It's a conspiracy, aimed solely at harming me," the accused declared, failing to convince the investigators who informed him of the terms of his detention. At the conclusion of the investigation, Mr. Sidibé was finally brought before the prosecutor's office in Pikine-Guédiawaye.
