Cameroun: Samuel Eto’o dénonce des attaques coordonnées
Samuel Eto'o does not intend to remain silent. With new accusations recently resurfacing regarding the management of a sum paid in connection with the friendly match between Russia and Cameroon in 2023, the president of Fecafoot has chosen to respond directly to his detractors.
In a Facebook post, the former captain of the Indomitable Lions questioned the increasing criticism he has been facing. He believes this media onslaught is linked to his recent advocacy for African football.
"All it took was for me to speak out in defense of our interests, the interests of Africa, for them all to come out," denounced Samuel Eto'o.
The head of Fecafoot goes further and denounces what he considers to be an orchestrated campaign against him. He specifically points to the repetition of the same accusations and the almost simultaneous intervention of several journalists.
"As if by chance, the same attacks, the same talking points, relayed almost simultaneously by journalists who are in their pocket," he continued.
Without directly naming his opponents, Samuel Eto'o suggests that some of the criticism stems from his stances on issues concerning African football. This is the former Cameroonian international's way of placing the controversy in a broader context.
"We have the right to think and decide for our football," the former striker insisted.

Avec quels autres acteurs du foot africains s'est-il concerté? A moins que l'Afrique ne se résume, pour lui, au Cameroun... Encore faudrait-il qu'il ait l'aval des camerounais eux-mêmes.
